Ranjan Das at the event admitted that he slept only 4-5 hours a day and he's very lack of sleep. A cardiologist, or heart specialist, explains about this from several studies that reveal the facts behind the lack of sleep:

1. Short sleep duration (<5 or 5-6 hours) increases the risk of high blood up to 350% to 500% than those who slept more than 6 hours a night. As you know, high blood pressure can kill you. This research was published in 2009.

3. Those who slept less than 5 hours a night had 3 times increased risk of heart attack. This research was published in 1999.

4. Full or partial sleep deprivation would increase the concentration of C-reactive protein in the blood, this is a strong marker of heart attacks. Although sleep later been met, its concentration will remain high! This research was published in 2004.

5. Sleeping less than 5 hours will lead to the 39% increase in heart attacks and sleep less than 6 hours a night will increase 18% chance of heart attack. This research was published in 2006.
